It refers to a full walk around the vessel, making sure everything is safe, tidy, and ready for either a passage or incoming guests. Often done at the end of a long shift, this daily ritual was sometimes rewarded with the beauty of a setting sun — a moment of calm I wanted to capture in this piece.”
